How to prepare your Chevening Scholarship 2027/2028 application

   Confirm your eligibility

   Check citizenship, the return-home commitment, undergraduate degree status, previous UK government scholarship history, and every current eligibility condition before investing in the application.

   Calculate 2,800 eligible work hours

   For this cycle, the required experience must have been acquired after completing your undergraduate degree. Full-time, part-time, voluntary work, and paid or unpaid internships may count.

   Choose three eligible UK courses

   Select three eligible master's courses that form one credible academic strategy. University applications are separate from the Chevening application.

   Build evidence for the application criteria

   Prepare specific evidence of leadership and influencing, building and maintaining professional relationships, course fit, and a realistic career plan. Keep every answer in your own words.

   Name two appropriate referees

   You provide referee details in the application. If shortlisted, upload two English reference letters and other required documents at least seven working days before the interview.

   Submit before 6 October 2026

   The application closes at 11:00 UTC. Finish early enough to check dates, work-hour entries, course details, and consistency across the application.
