Will Chevening apply to universities for me?
No. Scholarship and university applications are separate. You are responsible for applying directly to each university.
Do you apply to universities before Chevening?
No. Chevening does not require you to submit UK university applications before completing the initial scholarship application. You must still list three eligible course choices in the Chevening form, apply to those universities separately, and later secure at least one unconditional offer by the official deadline if you are successful.
Two separate application processes
Chevening does not send your scholarship form to universities. Each university uses its own application, documents, admissions criteria, and deadline. For the 2027/2028 cycle, successful Chevening candidates must submit at least one unconditional UK university offer by 8 July 2027 at 17:00 BST.
